  • Preparing students in 4th grade to take a lead in school.
  • Empowering students to have a positive outlook about themselves, their future, and their relationships.
  • Exploring and emphasizing the importance of honesty, awareness, and responsibility by completing a series of challenges.
  • Interacting with 4th graders from other schools, coming together knowing they will be “seniors” of their elementary schools next year.
  • The program focuses on the development of vital personal and interpersonal skills with an emphasis on accountability.

Outcomes

  • Students become aware of and reflect on the role they will play as peer leaders in their school.
  • Through the way the program is structured, young people will see for themselves why diversity is not simply good but important.
  • Students are challenged to consider how authentic they are and what drives them to act inauthentically.
  • Students are empowered to have a sense of pride and gain self-esteem by becoming comfortable in sharing their individuality.
  • Students become excited to develop important life skills and qualities, and start to understand their importance.

    • Improves the confidence and self-esteem of your students which fosters good behavior and positive relationships, addresses bullying, and prepares your future “upperclassmen” to lead from the top.
    • Potential to collaborate with middle schools or other elementary schools in the area.

    Second to last year in elementary school (typically 4th grade)

    Full or half day session with the full grade group or can meet with one class at a time.

    • The importance of responsibility, honesty, and awareness, what those concepts really mean, and how they can be applied during the program and in life.
    • Engaging with people outside of your core friend group.
    • Effective communication, the power of teamwork, and how to cooperate, plan a task, and problem-solve. This includes reflecting on and analyzing these situations.
    • How to take the lessons from the program and apply them in school.
